The first scene of the movie happened that Tom Cruise play the character as John Anderton, a Washington,D.C detective in the year 2054. John Anderton works for ‘Precrime”, a special unit of the police department that bases its work on the visions of three psychics or "precogs" whose prophecies of future events are never in error and arrests murderers before they have committed the actual crime.. The second part of the movie shows Anderton’s life, after his son missing right in his eyes; it was difficult for the wife to accept the fact, causing his wife separated with him. When Anderton discovers that he has been identified as the future killer of a man he's never met, he is forced to become a fugitive from his own colleagues as he tries to uncover the mystery of the victim-to-be's identity. When he kidnaps Agatha (Samantha Morton), one of the precog, he begins to formulate a theory about a possible frame-up from within his own department. Directed by Steven Spielberg, who hired a team of futurists to devise the film's numerous technologically advanced gadgets, Minority Report co-stars Colin Farrell, Max von Sydow, and Neal McDonough. The story was ended with Anderton and Lamar on a balcony, Lamar decided to commit suicide to protect precrime. Finally, precrime was dismantled; Anderton reunites with Lara (shown pregnant with their second child) and, lived happily; while the three precogs continued their lives peacefully, far out on a remote island, where they can no longer be troubled by future visions.
The movie mainly enlightened me that “space follow function”. The believably advanced landscape and technology. The car can move in any direction due to the well planned access way. The technologies impress me the most in this movie. The Driverless cars which could be commanded by the police to deliver their occupant to their police station, the Iris recognition system which tracked the movements of all citizens, and were also used for authentication and payment, and to deliver highly targeted advertising to passers-by, Mobile surveillance robots which swarm through a building and use iris recognition to find a sought person. In the future, I believe that this well planned city is needed to fulfil the demand of over population in this world.
The massage that bring to me from this movie is we must control our desires or else it will be disastrous and We must think rationally when we make decisions. For an example: The scence when Anderton and Lamar at the balcony. Anderton has warned Lamar about the precrime system as if Lamar murder Anderton then people will not accept the precrime system. So in the end of the story, Lamar has committed suicide to protect it system.

Theories Journey..
This will be the last class of my theory architecture class. Throughout this semester, this class had makes me know lots of extra knowledge, as in difference kind of people’s thinking in difference perspective and views. In the past, architecture is more likely like a concept or designing to represent power, identity, wealth and lots more. Basically, I would characterize majority of the structure in the past were considerate it aesthetic, local identity and sociopolitical dimension. However in the modern generation, function and economic have dominate the world. The competitive technology has allows the world to chase up speed, therefore large space will require for human to explores and produces item.
Through my first theory’s assignment, I have required to blog about a movie name of “minority report”. In my personal view, this movie has show the evolution of our future world. Which it might be dominate by the mobility world through the integration of technologies. If this really happen, decreasing the interaction between human will soon became a fact. As an architect, we have the responsibilities to reconsideration the design and to prevent lack of human interaction.
I am required to blog about a more general architecture articles. Firstly was the understanding of space and place, building and dwelling, and how to bring things into the present. In addition, I have also needed to explore the issue how buildings embody the past. It was important to understand the relationship of architecture when applying in a National Monument. By just walking through the National Monument, we should be able to have the historical feeling before us actually knowing it. Last but not least, I had learnt about the seven senses. This is one of the theories I can apply in any of my design. It seems like easy when we want to apply these senses in our design, but architects nowadays had been lacking out these theory by just focusing on the sense of sight, which is cause majorly by the media.
Most importantly, no matter what it is, for me; understanding ourselves is the main things of the theory class. Is been 2 years in my architecture life, I have never thought of the reason why am I doing my design in such style until I met this theory class. In my philosophy, I found out that in this world, everything is interrelated, everything were actually come from the basic. For an example, when u looking at a very complex building, you will thought that it must be come with a very complicated thinking before it built. But, I realized things don’t go in that way after the theory class. When we actually observe it in detail, the original thinking will real simple and basic. The basic things that shape me in my design nowadays were closely related with the house I stay when I was young. The reason why this happen, I think it is because an environment will cultivate a person attitude and thinking. Since that in the very young age I have been shape in that way, therefore, my design and thinking will closely relate to the house I stay when I was young.
The best things I love about this class which is my lovely lecturer. Before telling why it is the best, lets me talk about the worst things of these class. The worst thing of this class, which is to understands the article given by the lecturer. Is slightly difficult to blog about the articles when we don’t even know what it is talking about. Therefore, we will need to take our time until the last minute to produce the best understanding toward the article. And yes! Almost all of the articles make me burn the mid-night oil until the next day of the class. In the half sleeping mode, our lecturer still manages to joke with us, by keeping us awake to understand the lecture. The kindness and freedom environment of the class that creates by the lecturer makes me love it so much. Therefore, I guess that is the best of this class~

Taboo and Transgression: Architecture and Desire..
Bernard Tschumi is a deconstructivist architect, writer, and educator. Through the article, he has derived several pleasure of fragment of architecture which is fragments of geometry, mask, bondage, excess, and eroticism. According to Tschumi, pleasure of architecture can only be achieved by both pleasure of space and pleasure of geometry. They are both gather to create pleasure of architecture.
Throughout the article, idea of pleasure still seem sacrilegious to modern architectural theory. It’s why architects rarely transgress its limit even from the past of the time until now. In the modern architecture, it’s still a desire to exceed the limit that has been set in the architecture world. Due to tschumi, there is only space when there held an event. By regulating events, the extreme limit-conditions of architectural program became criteria to evaluate a building's capacity to function as a device capable of social organization. However, by architects itself to exist their limit will make them to explore more and form pleasing design. Architecture is inherently sensual, which is mean, their built building by allowing our bodies to lead the way by our seven senses.
In my point of view, a space whether it is prohibit or encourage sexual desire is mainly affect by the design of an architect. In the past, sexual activities only be carried out in the bedroom, sexual activities is thing which is very personal and privately done by a couple. The design of a room will be enclose even the bed itself will have curtain around it in the past dynasty of china. In the modern generation, we shall encourage more space being design to be sexually desirable. Due to the more open minded of the modern generation, we will chase for more excitement, and that have eventually affected an architect design limit. For example, in the past, a bathroom is only for the bathing purpose, however in the modern, the use of semi transparent material for the bathroom that blends with the restroom, will eventually encourage sexual desire.
Traditional Chinese Bedroom
Modern Bedroom
The relationship between sex, place and bodily libido is interrelated between one and another. We can carried out sex in anywhere and any place, but the question come, whether is it the place enhance our libido? A place which is comfortable and relaxing therefore will be the first consideration of having sex. To enhance the bodily libido, sometime is depends by the environment. Due to Tschumi, space and concept are erotic when both of them are junction together to produce the ultimate pleasure of architecture is the in impossible moment when an architectural art, brought to excess.

Kellie's Castle Trip...
Introduction
Kellie’s Castle is a castle built by William Kellie Smith, a wealthy Scottish planter which owned the Kinta Kellas Rubber Estate in the early of 19th century. This castle amidst the lush greenery stands proud of the ruins of the never completed dream of William.
Idea / Concept
The idea that William Kellie Smith built his mansion was mainly because of two reasons. The first reason was because of her wife. In year 1903, William has brought her wife, Agne back to Malaya. After the marriage of William and Agnes, Helen had conceived the following year. Agne has complained the uncomfortable of their brick and wooden house that rises up 38°c in the evening. Thus, William decided to build a castle with thick brick wall and nice courtyard that would reduce the amount of heat inside. Thus, a castle with the symbol of love is constructed. However, after the birth of his second children, Anthony, which he has a son to hand over his properties and estates, he decided to expand his previous castle to Kellie’s Castle as to be seen nowadays.
Besides that, due to the documentation from Discovery Channel, William was actually facing financial problem before marrying his wife, and there would be a great fund of three hundred thousand pounds from her family in 1905. So the second reason of William built the mansion was to show his pride and power. However, he realized that the money would only be given in 1908. Thus, it was the poorest period till 1908. In 1908, he decided to build a big castle to prove to the government officer that he was actually got the money. And through the opening roof design of the castle, William feels proud of showing his wealth rubber estates to the government officer during the roof party.
The mansion was extremely imposed and it was modelled on Moorish styled Government Federal Secretariat in Kuala Lumpur. And it has become well know throughout the Perak as being the most prestigious house of the state. Besides that, the Kellie’s house was surrounded by landscaped gardens, with flower bed, lawns, lake and a great sweeping drive bordered by royal palms.
Others than the castle, The architecture of the temple is a curious mix of Moorish, Greco-Roman and Indian design. Encapsulated forever in a moment in time is the odd, misplaced figurine of Kellie in his planter's suit and topee among the sixty deities on the temple roof.
Restoration of Kellie's Castle
William Kellie Smith himself was died of pneumonia during a short trip to Portugal in 1926. Prevent of staying in the castle that make Agne think of William, the heartbroken wife decided to pack up and return home to Scotland and selling the William’s properties; the estates and Kellie's Castle to a British company called Harrisons and Crosfield.
Kellie's incomplete castle was left to the elements to deteriorate. However, despite more than eighty years of vandalism and neglect until the Department of Museum and Antiquities took action to restore it in year 2000.
Personally thinking, the reason of restoring the mansion to it original state is to maintain the historical love story of William and Agne and recreate another tourism attraction in Ipoh, Perak. However, it was restored to the condition it was in when work stopped, so that it looks abandoned and incomplete, as it awaiting its mater to return and finish the job. Kellie’s Castle was a memorable and valuable place of for the descendants of the Indian laborers brought over to Malaya to work on the mansion still alive nearby even now. In addition, the Kellie’s Castle has used as a setting in the 1999 Indian film, Anna and the King. Through the film, we able to realize that the important of the love story and the memorable history of this castle.
Beautiful of Kellie’s Castle
The memorable of a castle lying on a small hill.
The symbol of old age of the castle.
The fine and repetition of brickwork.
The space for first elevator (technology) in Malaysia.
The open roof that join the window of the room for better ventilation and sunlight.
Imagine Space...
Current courtyard space surround by unfinished structure.
A complete version of courtyard space surround by double stories mansonry brickwork.
Feelings of the Castle...
Through the trips, I was first seen Kellie’s Castle when I was still in the bus. It was a far slight that have stock me that Kellie’s Castle was a building that built about 100 years ago. Due to the technology in Malaya by that time, to build a Castle, it needs to take up plenty of years and cost a large amount of money. By the time I reach and when I’m standing in front of the castle, I can sense the mess and durability of the building, by the structure and texture of it. The combination of brick and concrete work has show the heaviness and stability of the building. When I’m walking in the corridor, touching the texture of the brick work, I can feel the fine and effort of the workers of laying the brick. Besides that, the uses of marble in the wine cellar have make me felt the coldness in the room, even when it’s hot in the weather. Last but not least, when I’m standing in the open roof top, I can smell the freshness of the air from the surrounding of landscape garden.

An Architecture of the Seven Senses
When we talk about senses, usually we will just think about the common five senses, which are, vision, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. But when it come to Juhani Uolevi Pallasmaa, a Finnish architect and former professor of architecture. He conclude architecture with seven senses, which is the usually five and the additional of muscle and skeleton.
In the present of lives, the sense of vision had actually meant everything to an architect and also everyone else. There are reason why architect nowadays lack of applying all the senses into their design and work. Is undeniable that majority of people will judge things by the first slight of eyes whether it’s beautiful or ugly. An most unfortunate reason of concentrating on the visual, without the others senses is due to the side effect of media. When we open up a magazine, it’s impossible to convey all the senses others than visual through photographs. That’s no ways that we can smell the building, sense the volume of space, neither feel the warmth of the sunlight. Media in current live is too competitive that usually first magazine to publish a building often sells more. So if you get to discuss the building before its completion, then you is first involves to speak.
Due to the side effect of the media, that lead architect to concentrate more on the visual, because they know more and more their clients understand their designs through media representation of them, rather than visiting them. And this also leads to a consequence, where more and more designs are discussed through the media and simply understand by the presentation without going to the site and analyse it.
I would like to add in a situation, how an architect should build a house to a client, if the client is blind. Is impossible that the house is without the others senses other than visualization. By an American architect, Charles Moore, he had design a house for a blind client in California. The house was oriented by a series of rooms containing scented plants, containing water and things that would make differences noise. This will lead the client to use his ability of senses of hearing, smell, and also touch. Within every room things to touch remind him of the room where he were. This have show that the important to include all the senses in our design.
Sense of visual
Sense of visual is the ability to see by a pair of eyes. Usually we will see and observe a thing with our eyes before all. By jus applying the sense of visual had become a threat to nowadays architects. When we design, we shouldn’t only view things in a perspective, we should have view it in difference perspective so that we can understand it better and full use of our ability.
Acoustic Intimacy
Hearing is the ability to hear through our ear. Every building or space has its characteristic sound of intimacy or monumentality, rejection or invitation, hospitality or hostility. Sense or hearing creates a sense of connection and solidarity. However, sound also measures space and makes its scale comprehensible.
The Shape of Touch
Touching is an ability by the contact of our skin. Skin do reads the texture, weight, density and temperature of matter. The tactile sense connects us with time and tradition. Our skin traces spaces of temperature with unerring precision. Our skin also traces the density and texture of the ground through our soles.
Taste of Architecture
By Juhani Pallasmaa, "To me, it is, I have experience on a number of occasions that certain qualities of stone, for instance, certain metals, detailing of wood, can be so subtle that you feel it in your mouth. I have made the observation that architecture can be subtle enough to even evoke a sensation of taste.” Vision also becomes transferred to taste; certain colours as well as delicate details evoke oral sensations.
Images of Muscle and Bone
Primitive man used his body as the dimensioning and proportioning system of his construction. A building is not an end to itself, it frames, articulates, restructures, gives significance, relates, separates and unites, facilitates and prohibits. The sense of muscle and bone is just like a structure in our body, it’s interrelated.
Beyond Appearances - Architecture and the senses
This is an article of the conversation between Alan Saunders (host of radio national), Rebecca Maxwell & Peter-John Cantrill(the guest). They were discussing about how the professional Architects can even things up, so that our experience of the world we build around us becomes a truly multi-sensory.

Monuments, Testimony and Memory..
Jewish Museum Berlin was located in Berlin, Germany. This museum consists of two parts of the buildings. Kollegienhaus which is the old former courthouse was built is the 18th century. And the new one was built by a well known architect Daniel Libeskind in year of 1999.
In my opinion, I think that Jewish Museum has successfully in commemorating the dead. The Jewish Museum exhibits the social, political and cultural history of Jews in Germany from the 4th century to the present. First of all, Liberkind have created and design the Jewish museum in a straight linear of zigzag form from the thought of all the violent or the rapture history of Jews and Germany. Besides that, Libeskind has also expressed the disappearance of Jewish culture in the city by applying the concepts of absence, emptiness, and invisible. This can be found by ‘The Voids’, which is certain empty rooms that is orchestrated to allow visitor to see but not to enter.
In addition, Libeskind has used three axes which symmetrically arrange, to show out the principal of continuity, axial, and death. The longest roads lead to the ‘stair of continuity’ and to the museum itself. While second leads to ‘Garden of Exile. And third lead to the dead end of ‘Holocaust void’.
National Museum was designed by a local architect, Ho Kok Hoe, in 1959, shortly after Malaya gained independence. National museum is a repository of Malaysia's rich cultural and historical heritage. The museum houses four exhibition galleries featuring Malaysia's history and rich cultural diversity. The architect have design the four exhibition galleries space due to its own period of time.
Prehistory Gallery
The Prehistory Gallery on the first floor showcases the formation of the Malay Archipelago to the findings of numerous important prehistoric archaeological sites in Malaysia. Due to pre-historical period, human were living in cave. That cause the theme of it is darker and mostly decorated with rock and stone.
Malay Kingdoms Gallery
The Early Malay Kingdom Gallery features the existence of the Malay States and highlights the zenith of the Malaccan Empire during the 15th century as centre for the spice trade and the proliferation of Islam. Due to the Early Malay Kingdom period, human will largely dependent by timber. Therefore, the theme of this gallery will mostly decorate with timber.
Colonial Era Gallery
The fall of Malaccan Empire in 1511 to the Portuguese was the start of 446 years of foreign influence, from the Dutch, British and then Japanese. When Colonial Era conquering Malacca, they have use brick to build their castle. Therefore, brick will be chosen to be the theme of this part of gallery.
Malaysia Today
The Malaysia Today Gallery brings visitors to the sights and sounds of the Road towards Independence. As a developed country, lots of high technology devices will used in this gallery.

Remembering the home…
Do you think that environment really will affect a person characteristic? Base on serious studies at America, 80% of a person characteristic will be build between zeros to three. Is true that people seldom realize that they are actually being shape and affected since they was young, under the environment where they growth up. By the day this exercise handout, I only realize that a lots of my design characteristic were related to the house that I stay when I was young.
When I was young, I am staying in a small wooden house located at Petalling Jaya. Only until when I was age of 9, then my family and I have shifted to Subang Jaya. They are a big contrast between these two areas. The place where I stay in Petalling Jaya was an older development area, which the site planning and environment lack of afforest that causes the air qualities goes low. Compare to Subang area, the later site planning have included the green projects which make the environment feels more harmony and creates better visualization. The difference between this two areas have make me understand the effect of an environment bring to human comfort level. Which I will always emphasize on the site planning when I doing my designs.
Due to my farther career, which is a constructor, there are a lot of tools and materials needed to keep in a house after projects have ended. By that time, my house will be a real mess up cause by that stuff. Later on, my father has made a wooden rack to along the wide external stair way beside my house to store all the paint and stuff in a systematic way. Furthermore, there is also some furniture which attaches to the wall which safe up a lot of space. This has reminded me that the ways where my father used the empty space with a function and apply it in my design class.
Others than that, I have also realize that I often used linear principal in my design classes. This is maybe due to the environment when I was young and also my personality. When I was young, there are a lot of linear spaces around me. For example of my house, there will be a distances approximately between 12m of my front gate to my main entrance with a width of 6m. The narrow walk ways from the living hall toward to my room, it will need to pass through my parent’s room. In addition, there was a 400m walk ways which need to pass through a series of three beside me to my primary school. And one of the reasons may cause by my personality, I will like to think and place things which include all the elements in a point of view with the importance of itself. And linear principle will definitely suit my requirement, which is placing things that which come first will be at the front and others will be at the back.
Last but not least, I realize that my entire project will also have big opening and mostly placed at the rear part of the building. I guess this is because of a habit that I have created since young. Usually after caned by my mother, I will also hide myself in the room, sitting on the bed, and look out toward the sky with my large window to cold down my emotional. Due to the topography of my house, which was located at a higher ground level, this will make the night view clearer and peaceful. That might be the reason why I am creating a big opening on my design and if it is possible, I will design it at a higher ground level to avoid from unnecessary lighting that will spoil the night view.
As a conclusion, the design characteristic n style I having now, basically there is a big major that affected by the environment when we was young.

Heidegger’s Thinking on Architecture
Before I start, there is a question in my mind, does god really exist? Does god really related to architecture? Through Heidegger’s, he mentions the temple, he does so to illuminate the nature of the work of act. He believes that things presence in this world is something he defines as “truth”.
Throughout the article, Heidegger have used Greek temple as an example to show the relationship of man and god. A simple portray temple that stand in the middle of rock-cleft valley, if without congest of human, it is nothing but just a building. By the word temple, god is present in the temple. For example, one of the seven wonder of the world, the Parthenon, have preserve after thousands of years until now. It is because human believe the existence of god and that is the holy precinct, the dwelling for god.
Heidegger have introduced and defines the world as fourfold, which is the earth, sky, mortals and divinities. And the fourfold are interrelated to each others. They are the ‘mirror’ of the other, they all belong in the mirror-play. Human stay and carries out activities between the earth and sky. Building is such constructed things, which gathers a world and allow for dwelling. Heidegger wants to prove that everyday life-world really consists of concrete “thing”, rather than the abstraction of science.
Human life takes place between earth and sky in a concrete sense, and things which constitute the place have to be disclosed in their immediate presence. Whereas, landscape is a space where human life takes place. “Space” is therefore not given a priori, but provided for by location. In architecture, space is generally called the making of places.
Dwelling is a building, but building might not be a dwelling. Building that dwell people is a dwelling. Heidegger said that, building are location, and the location should admit the fourfold and install the fourfold. Admittance and installment are two aspects of spatiality as location. “The building bring the earth as the inhabit landscape close to man and t the same time place the nearness of neighborly dwelling under the expanse of the sky.” In this sentence, it shows the relation of the fourfold.
“Language, by naming beings for the first time, first brings beings to word and to appearance.” Quote by Heidegger, Heidegger’s theory of art also consider his notion of language. He can’t accept the interpretation of language as a mean of communication, based on habit and convention. Therefore, language is the original art and it does not exhaust the disclose of truth.
Previously, I have when to a temple name "Tian Hou" Temple. It is a famous chinese temple located in Kuala Lumpur. Comparing man and god in the context of dwelling, the scale, decoration, and space needed will definitely difference.
There is some similar characteristic in this picture compare to greek temple. Both of them will place in a high ground to show the difference power. Beside that, they will have a long walkways before you entering the temple to worship the god.
By comparing the human scale to the column, we know that the space of the hall is huge.
This is a small pond name of "ling guai chi". It is a pond that rear alots of turtle, because chinese people do believe that turtle symbolize of health. This one of the context between man and nature.

The Concept of Place
I agree with the author of this article, and disagree with mobility world. A place or space is a main thing of an architect dealing with all the time. Places, such as house, city and country, create a space for human being to take part of their daily routine.
Space like existential and architectural space will designs for human to practice out their activities as in public or personally. “The essence of the city is not place but interaction.” Say by Milton Webber. But nowadays, technical means of communication liberate us from direst physical contact with others. Through the study of Lynch implies a return, the lack of direct human contact may produce psychic disturbances.
The development of the concept of place, and of space as a system of places, is therefore a necessary condition for adaptation to a given environment. A child learns to recognize and creates a world based on a system similarities to the environment they familiar with. If without or lack of imageable structure, they would loses their sense of orientation.
Further more, the beauty of culture and tradition as point of reference from our pass generation should have prevailed to our next generation. Compare to mobility world, do u think there is anything will still remain?
However, In my opinion, mobile world will be the ease toward human needs in the future. But I strongly disagree mobile world without architecture.

Welcome to my Architecture world.
When I was young, my father used to bring me along to his construction site to manage his works. So since I’m age of 9, I already used to the building environment of the site. My father always have to social with his civil engineers boss, and ended up get drunk back to home. He told me that when I grow up, I must study until the best and have my own ability to work. Not to suffer things which he suffering all the time.
Thus, the reason why I choosing architecture was due to my background and some words that influences by my father. But this doesn’t mean that I know and plan to be an architect since when I was young. I only understand architecture a week before entering UCSI through the Educational Fair. It’s a sudden decision from me of choosing it because it’s just sound INTERESTING. And my entire life won’t feel bored just because of working.
I feel great studying in architecture course. I get to travel to somewhere else with my course mate every semester which not all subject offer that in their studies. Letting those beautiful building, with the composition of principles, texture of material, blend of colors into my pair of eyes is the greatest things I have ever enjoy~ However, the only things I hate currently about architecture studies, was rushing to summit assignment. That wasn’t a nightmare, because you don’t even have time to sleep.
Being honest, I found out a bad habit of myself, which is always doing the last minutes work. Even when I plan to start it once I get the handout, but I still ended up submit it at the last moment. I just can’t figure it out. In the other hand, I found a good habit of me, which is never give up and submit those assignment even burning up the midnight oil. I do believe that the longer period I take to finished up my work, the better the qualities it will be. That was what I said to comfort myself all the time. Hehe~
My family support should be the thing that keeps me going in this field. They’re giving out 100% support to me as in physical, mental and for sure of financial. Last but not least, lots of lecturer had taught me well, but one of them that I really respect which is Miss Sue~ She is smart, pretty, charming, beautiful and lots more that word can’t say~ (credit!) Hehe~ Her passion toward architecture had make me feel the mighty of architects. The last sentence is true. I’m serious.
